Hey. Ive just recently noticed that I had become a Heroic Member, and now for some odd reason I had gone back to a ordinary Member. Can someone tell what could have accured to make me go back to a Member? I've also seen this happen to some of you, so if you know that be great. Thanks

Well it can be for a variety of reasons. The most likely reason is that you recieved the status when the titles were bugged, after which 70,000 members had their titles removed, that or you were banned or warned which has a very negative influence on your member title.

Due to your join date I would guess you recieved the title during Febuary, sice then title bugs have been fixed and your title has changed back to what it should be at this current time.

For information about what we know about the title system please see this thread. These threads are generally locked as they are are becoming far too frequent so don't be surprised if this topic is locked.

I hope I have helped ;-)

I've noticed this as well. I used to be a Mythic Member, and I never recall doing anything wrong at all. I hope it is just a bug or something. If not, then It looks like I'm going to be Legendary for a while...

Hello.

Must be a system bug (there was one that happened to the majority of the Bungie.net users).

You might have done something that you do not of to make your trust go down.

Tom provided you with a link to the Role Guide, so hopefully that will help somehow.

  • 03.11.2008 12:57 PM PDT

How about we all get banned and drop the whole titles issue.

Same here Sniper. I was a Mythic the other day but now I'm ye olde Legendary. Haven't been warned or anything like that about forum misconduct so perhaps the criteria for Mythic has changed.

I would assume that you were borderline between both and dependant on the number of secure Mythic members in reflection to insecure Mythics your title changed; you might be swapping places with somebody else in a similar position to keep the numbers at the 200 Mythics maximum value. However somebody who you were swapping places with or very close too trust rating wise may have done something to improve their trust rating which may have knocked you out of the Mythic member title criteria because your position was not secure meaning that until you do something of significant affect or are just patient it will be a while until you reach Mythic again.

This is of course a guess but I think it a plausible one. Perhaps Achronos can explain it to you although as we know him giving details on the trust system can be compared to the hardest jigsaw puzzle on the planet.

EDIT: I see several people have lost their Mythic Titles, perhaps Achronos decided 200 Mythics was too much and reduced the amount so people who were (as I said) less secure were demoted because of it.

Hello.

I like that. Instead of being concerned with their title, people need to be concerned on helping the 7th Column as best as they can.

Yes, I know that was cheesy...

I'm thinking that either Achronos adjusted it to where it's more "fair and even," or it's a bug.

Its hard to explain why your member title might have dropped because none of us really know how it works. TOM's explanation seems like a good guess to me though.

Don't worry about it though, the member titles are really just predictors of behaviour.

It must have been a bug, because now Im currently a Heroic Member, yet once again. Or someone probably just fixed the problem. Also if the whole bungie ranking system was based on behavior, it must have been a glitch in the system. Because there has been no drama with me so far. All I wanted to know is what had happened to occur this problem. But thanks for all the good explanations to the situation, they helped tons.

There is a bug on BNet that the BNet team "fixed". They actually didn't fix anything, and just posted of how great this new system is (Propaganda). Next thing you know, they will say how the cookie imports are up 5% a year when they are actually are down. Don't believe anything you see. The Cake is a Lie.

If there is a bug... it will be fixed soon. (The BUG is a LIE)

I got over it too, with a few days of mourning, counseling and anti-depressants. No biggie...*sob*

A lot of rank/title problems happened a while back, but those were fixed, I guess. The problem is probably something to do with the system of how you get your rank up. Achronos once said the title system had to do with variables and stuff.

i do not understand what you mean. bungie can determine any criteria that they would like to use to award member titles. no matter what requirements they select in the automatic system, it will be fair and even in how it operates. if they want to make mythic members out of people who have had an account for 2 months, they could do so. or, if they want to only give the title to members with accounts of 3 years or older with 5 pages of total posts, then they can do so (this happens to be how things look now).

as far as i can gather, they made it so longer membership times were required to earn the various titles.

I don't see what you're getting all riled up about. I purposely got blacklisted so I could stay a member. And if for some reason I get promoted back up I'll ask to be placed back down.

200 Mythic members, Feb 14th 2008, I hope Achronos can come and explain in more detail.
