I post about 40 times a day and have done for about a year, i got banned once but that was 6 months ago, no title for me?

Probably because the ban was more serious than you thought it was. Just keep on posting in a positive and helpful manner and hope you get a title soon. Remember, titles are a privalege and not a right.

Title bar is something no one technically should pay attention to, in my opinion. Now I'm good with use of the English language so it may come out wrong.

But it's quite clear that members here would rather listen to a Mythic member while members can be stereotyped as unheard with their non.intelligent posts.

If you see a post from a Mythic member that others frown upon, they won't give a -blam!- about what he wrote, they will hit reply and type in "And you're Mythic member why?"

Sure it shows that one hasn't been banned much, if at all so that kind of increases your "popularity" amongst members. But they're still people, just like regular members, sure I've seen Mythic members troll and trashtalk here on Bnet.

I had the words Honorable Legendary Member next to my name a while ago when I got banned for logging on to my account on a friend's computer whose account had been banned on. He went down, he took me down with him.

A moderator, nice guy that he was, unbanned me and deemed that my ban should not be considered in the future.

Anyway, time has gone, I'm still a member. And I don't feel much difference at all. I shouldn't be looked down on, so shouldn't any one, and I honestly don't think that any member with a high title should be looked...up to.

If you got banned last week and are still a member instead of your beloved Honorable Member or Intrepid Heroic Member or whatever, don't try to care too much. Sure it can suck. But that happens, and it's not even that big a deal.

Yes, just a little. You shouldn't be looking to gain a new member title, you should be posting normally and when the time comes you will be ready.

My post count has diminished, but journalism, psychology, and IT classes get in the way of my posts. Guess I can still look forward to this thread and seeing all of the people say, "Why my member bar no go up?" It's also kind of cool to see someone post "Why am I just a Member?", and then watch them "rank" up later.

Group activity does affect your title. Part of the reason I'm heroic is thanks to private groups.

As a test i logged on to an old account of mine that had never been banned and had been a member for a year, with the "honorable" prefix. I made a group and set up a script to keep replying to a thread. 3000 posts later over the course of a month and its title didn't change. So i don't know what to make of that.
It will take longer than a months replying to a thread in a group for you title to go up! I think it would have minimum effect on your title but it still is positive if you know what i mean?! Also heyyou was posting in the main forums as well so his trust rating would have been increasing anyway.

I read hundreds of threads through out the day but lately haven't replied to many. Yet, I have maintained a mythic bar, which seems odd - I would have thought I would drop to Legendary.

I'd assume that signing in and browsing for lengthy periods contributes to trust - that or I have accumulated enough posts semi-recently to offset a recent low post/day ratio.

I also think that logging in, even if your just lurking will gain you trust! Theres some days i don't post in the main forums at all just in my groups, i never lost my heroic yet gained legendary!

Perhaps there is an invisible timer somewhere and that gives you a different title bar rather than dates.

Duardo, a hugging emoticon lady? Duardo, doing it for the lulz? Duardo, stealin' my docs? Or are they all LIES?

RED, ORANGE, YELLOW, GREEN, I'LL SHOW YOU WHO'S REALLY MEAN! BLUE, VIOLET, INDI-GO, I'LL SHOW YOU -blam!-S, HERE WE GO!

I've got a bit of a theory forming, not too sure if it's right yet, but I wanted to share it with you guys.

One day, when I was in a good mood and was browsing the Halo 3 Forum, Universe Forum, Flood Forum, and this forum very regularly, I posted 36 (or so) times in a single day on the publics alone, and at least 10 on the privates. That's the highest number of posts in a single day that I have made ever, and it is also much more than I was making per day at the time, which was around 7 or 8. At this time, I had just gotten my Mythic bar back (bah!).

The day following the posting spree, I awoke to find myself a Fabled Legendary Member. I was overjoyed that I finally got my sexy gray bar back, but I was curious as to why posting in the extreme might bring my title down. I thought about it at length, but didn't come up with anything. I posted a few times in the morning, then went away entirely and spent the rest of the day with my girlfriend. Returning home late at night, I checked Bnet, and wouldn't you know it; I was a Fabled Mythic Member once again.

I was scratching my head at this point, wondering what on Earth would provoke the system to shunt me to Legendary after a posting spree, then jump me back up to Mythic when I had only posted 6 or 7 times the following day. Then it occurred to me that the system might have shunted me down, at least for a day, under suspicion of violation.

My normal Post Per Day ratio, according to CAVX's script, is 10.344; before that day, it was at 9.344 or so. During the course of that day, my PPD value went up a full post, which is a very significant change. If the trust system caught sight of me posting much more frequently than I normally do, and in very high amounts at that, it might've begun to expect that I was spamming or trolling, doing something out of the ordinary in a negative way rather than a positive way. The system could've shunted me down so less people would take me seriously as the Mythic that I was beforehand, and then taken me back up the following day after no punishment came down on me. In essence, the system could've removed my title so the trolling or spamming that it suspected I was doing would be less effective, then when no official punishment came down and the system concluded that I did nothing wrong, it could've increased my title back to normal.

I know it sounds kinda far-fetched, but I was thinking idly and this came up as a reason for why it might've happened. If this is true, though, what does that mean for people that post 30 or more times per day? Does the system keep their titles low as well, or is it only if you post much more than you normally do? I don't know if I'm right or not in the slightest, but if I am I wonder what it means for the titles of the massive posters.

I must say Snakie thats definately an interesting idea you've had!! About a month ago i went away for 3 weeks and only post 3 times during this period, there has been previous periods when i've been away for 2 weeks and haven't posted anything as well, now i came back posted normally for a week and i get 'bumped' upto legendary?? Its a really nice concept that you've thought up!!

I like you idea. Maybe too much posting is bad. But on he other hand, you can get the Intrepid prefix.

You have to remember thats all it is an 'idea', but one i can relate to! Since i've started going away for 1 or 2 weeks at a time and not posting for the duration i'm away, its actually bumped me up from heroic to legendary once i got posting after my absence??!

I was Intrepid at 5.5 or 6 Posts Per Day, according to CAVX's script. I went up to Fabled at something like 7 or 8.5 PPD, again according to his script. You don't need to post a ton just to get one of those prefixes, you barely have to post 8 or 9 times a day. That's why I think the system might view excessive posting as dangerous; why would people be motivated to post that much? They either have no lives or are after something, and spamming and trolling fall under the "after something" category.

It's just a thought.
