the UI is hard to read, i went into a game of free-for-all, saw a guy, shot at him, he shot back, i killed him and.... Betrayal... wtf? thought this was free for all... turns out it was jugernaught... too bad i couldn't read it, until i checked my stats online.

Another thought...

Grenades and Ammo are sometimes difficult to determine type/amount.

Perhaps grenades should not switch locations when type is swapped. For ammo, this should be fixed by the opacity of the HUD.

Veto for ARs!!!!

The postgame stats page SUCKS. Info found in Halo 3 is missing, why take steps backwards???

Maybe just me, but I dislike the fact you can't see what your secondary weapon is on the HUD

When the Active Roster is visible on the right side of the screen it indicates pressing 'Y' will bring up your friends [at least this is what I thought it indicated]. When pressing 'Y' it simply brings up: "[GAMERTAG]'S XBOX LIVE FRIENDS". When selected it simply brings you right back to the previous screen.

There is no way to view a friend's File Share if they are offline or currently playing another game.

After selecting a friend from the Active Roster "Send Message" would be a helpful entry.

If you name or describe an item incorrectly ... there is no way to rename them from their option menu. There is no "recommend" feature any longer for File Share items.

I don't have too much problem with the reticle. The indicator of where the hill is is difficult to find though. Might I suggest making that little arrow red or larger?

Ammo indicators sometimes overlap. Encountered this issue last night on Powerhouse:
I had the Rocket Launcher and DMR. When I switched from the DMR to the Rocket Launcher, the DMR's ammo indicator overlapped/replaced that of the Rocket Launcher (it appeared as if I had more than two rockets in the clip). This issue went away after I fired a rocket.

Not in split screen it doesnt.

I think the grenade count indicator is somewhat confusing to read. I really think Halo 3's was better.

Allow us to see how many medals of each type we earned right there on the postgame stats page instead of having to go to b.net to find it.

Possibly show our top 3 ratings (that make up the average for our daily ratings) when we are in the Arena so we can know at a glance what score we need to get in the next match to increase our daily rating.

I think that there is too much squeezed in to notice the important things during gameplay. I know that I for one would like the health/shield indicator if it stood out more, and maybe taking something away....consolidate the space?

What if you intergrated the abilities bar with the health and shield? Like stacked it? i think that would encourage you to notice your health more.

one thing I know for sure is that I don't go out for health packs at ALL. Partly because im used to this generations "regenerating health" stuff, (and this probably doesn't go here, but I dont even SEE the health packs half the time anyway!) so maybe if you moved the ability up with the health, you'd care more about your life? :)

Grenades need a better system for differentiating between the two. A quick glance often doesn't let me figure out which one is active.

I know that I would prefer a static location for each type of grenade, with the active type highlighted, rather than moving them around to show active type.

Possibly incorporate some type of red-tinted flash [or an audible cue] when voting is about to _start_. This is for those who find themselves scrolling through post-game stats and hear the three beeps too late to back out and submit their vote for the next match.

I noticed this too. I had no idea what different areas were called because I played the first few days solely in split screen.

There Is No Spoon

2 Things, the grenade indicator needs to be changed, I can never tell what type grenade I have mid-combat and I would love to know how many of each medal I earned, other than that It rocks!!!

P.S. I loke the wepon of choise, but how many kills did I get with it?? That would be cool to know... Great game though keep up the good work!!

Assists don't show up on individual player carnage reports.

Can't see number of each medal earned on carnage report.

Areas covering spartan model on individual carnage report difficult to read (on 1080p TV). In particular, the number of kills with the tool of destruction blends in.

Delay on execution activation is a tad short. There have been several times I've gone to do a regular assassination, only to go in the long animation and get myself killed.

Possibly give the option to turn these off altogether?

-Font is too small

-Pause Screen still pauses for both players. Please make it so it only pauses for the player that paused it, and it only makes them leave the game when they quit, like Halo 2.

What happened to the white arrow on the edge of the radar to show you where the next objective was? It was in Halo 3, and it makes things much easier to find out where the next Hill is on the map.

Also, down where the score is shown, it no longer fills up to show you how close to winning you are if you forget what score it goes to.

Am I confused on this.

It appears that I can't see the game progress of my friends in the active roster unless I'm party leader.

So if I'm sitting in someone else's party waiting for a friend to join I can't look at their current game statistics to determine how long I'm going to be waiting. I have to be party leader in order to see people's game statistics on the active roster.

I prefer grenades on the HUD to be displayed left to right, not top and bottom.

Also I'm not 100% of this but I swore the loadout order changed from gametypes, can anyone confirm if it changes?

Almost every game I've played its

Sprint

Armor Lock

Camo

Jetpack

But I seem to recall one game where the 3rd choice was not camo? My preference is that it stays the same so I can quickly scroll to my choice. I could be wrong though...

Short and simple


First of all I don't have a big TV so I want bigger text that shows that you killed some one! or who killed who (the text above your armor ability)
ignores the hell out of me that I cant read it.


Second of all i want the carnage report text bigger so i can read that better to :D



Last but not least when you go wide-screen on xbox setting you get a black bar when some one haves "The big screen" or you are just playing with one friend please make "the big screen" full size.

Change how your grenades appear on the HUD please! The two grenade types swap places when you change grenades. Therefore, a specific grenade type doesn't have a set place where it will always be. Both grenade types look somewhat similar (they are circular, duh), but I think this is only really a problem on smaller TV's like mine in my dorm, and it takes me more than just a quick glance to see which type I have equipped.

Also, as many people have mentioned before, the text that shows kills on left side of the screen could be made larger. And a player's own kills could be highlighted in a different color, to avoid confusion and all that nonsense.

HUD criticism.
WAypoints for allies. Needless when they're off screen. It's too much to sort through on objective games, and all the spinning arrows are a distraction when you're in the process of grabbing a flag or ball/bomb and fighting.

Atleast you put the color back to blue, the god awful yellow from ODST was a nightmare. I would like to suggest however, on behalf of color blind players, that the red and blue HUD waypoints be customizable, well as motion detector content.

Motion Tracker:
Suggested change. Level and below are fine, but above needs a fine tuning to be able to use at a glance.(which is the very point of any given HUD, quick uncluttered information)
Above: A different color or more obviously different pattern.

And um, round please? Distorting the shape of it really can throw off one's perception of it.

Life Bar:
Annoying that it shrinks to center. Not a big deal, but it makes judging % hard on the fly. Again, goes against what a HUD's purpose actually is. A left right gauge would be fine.

Grenades on the Hud.
Not bright enough on the selected Grenade. Totally too big. Halo 3 had it perfect. This is yet another un-efficient use of HUD space. The grenades types are hard to distinguish on the fly, AND they switch places!

I would, for weapons and grenades, not rotate them top to bottom, but simply expand the selected / shrink the non selected.
