Subject: Halo Reach Bloom is Pointless

Adding bloom to the game totally ruined what made halo...halo.
The Bloom slows down the gameplay (Which is already slowed down by the player speed decrease and the inabilaty to JUMP)

The bloom results in random DMR/Pistol wins.
If somebody can spam the trigger and still kill someone after they patiently timed out all of their headshots then there is something wrong with this game.

The bloom punishes those with skill who can aim faster and better.

I can understand bloom on weapons in mw2 in which fire clips containing 20 bullets or more. The bloom represents the kickback. But for a gun that fires SINGLE rounds like the DMR shouldnt have a bloom on it. A gun which also doesnt do much damage with that SINGLE round.

Halo has never needed bloom for its rifles. Why fix something that isnt broken?

100% agreed. Its just a way for Bungie to put a CAP on individual skill.

The bloom isn't what slows the kills down. It's the over nerfing of weapons. DMR 5 shots, AR 22ish shots, etc. They're all physically weaker than the Halo 3 versions and the Halo 3 ones were already slow...

The only one that got any sort of buff, and could kill in a good speed, was the magnum. Not surprisingly it was everyone's favorite weapon. Go figure.

You just got quiggled!

Bloom has been in every single Halo game since CE. It just has never been visualized. Bungie did that so that when you're spamming the trigger without any bloom your not complaining about why you aren't getting the kill.

Jeez. The bloom was always inferred, but never shown. Adding the reticule bloom allows someone to actually think about how they're aiming. It's one of the few additions that improve on the gameplay.

And to think that Reach was suppose to be more advanced to Earth.

Yes the bloom was always on the weapons like the Ar. Which is why firing in bursts was more effective. (But never used because of melee)

The br diddnt have bloom at all just a rate of fire. Which is one of the reasons why it was so perfect.

Just because you watched ONE video doesn't mean you're correct. Also, it didn't show any resemblance to how bad the bloom on the DMR really is. Bungie TRIED to make it so that we weren't complaining about spamming = not getting kills, but they either: didn't ramp the bloom up enough to compensate for spammers, or they didn't expect people to actually run away when they were being shot by a person timing the DMR (shock, horror).

Agreed. Implying that semi-auto weapons have kickback is ridiculous.

Too bad this is what Bungie wants for longer and more skillful engagements. I personally don't have a problem with it seeing as I still dominate. This is still Halo to me and many others.

Longer =/= skillful. If both people are patiently timing their shots, sure, but 90% of DMR firefights turn into one of the people spamming bullets. Always. I do great in Halo: Reach despite it as well, but I could be doing so much better if it was gone. And spammers would still be doing the same.

It's always been there, you're just seeing it now in the form

I'm tired of people saying that. The weapons had a spread, not a bloom.

Of course longer =/= skillful. That is why I said
longer AND more skillful.

On the DMR bloom spam comment, a good strafe and a well timed last shot will usually defeat spammers. It is impossible to completely omit randomness in any game. Even if bloom was gone, like you said, the spammers will keep spamming much like the spamming BR sweepers in H3 who get lucky at times.

it wasent spread it was technically bloom but nothing to the degree of halo reach, they need to decrease it greatly, i would say make the cool down rate about 50% faster.

disagree.

My personal experience was that if you match the "bloom size" to the "target size" on screen it resulted (usually) in an advantage in taking down the enemies shield faster.

On paper its not so bad, in practice its not so simple.

This, because ironically it makes CQC even easier with the DMR with bloom.

ok, no bloom has not been in every halo game. i took every halo game, took the automatic weapons and a BR, and fired them at a wall. 95% of the shots of every automatic weapon, no matter how fast i fired it, fell inside the blue circle. 100% of every shot i fired with the pistol or BR fell inside the little blue circle. there has never been bloom in halo games before this

What? That doesn't make any sense.
I think he means canon wise. The weapons on Reach were supposed to be better than the ones on Earth. Yet, the ones we have in the Reach game suck compared to the ones in other games.

You an idiot? So you could just spam with everything and no problem? Hell no, first I doubt you went back to every halo game (BR was not in CE btw) and tested all the weapons? BS
Second I did the same in three and at medium range there is a more scatter shot then firing semi so yes, there is bloom.

/pistol in halo CE im not retarded unlike you

and yes, if you held the reticle at a fixed point and pulled the trigger as fast as you could, every shot would land within the blue circle
