And don't forget that Halo 3 and Reach are made by different developers

In Reach, there were so many weapons that are actually useful but in H3, on every spawn, it was a spring to a BR. Just gets so old to be so useless without one.

Yes but in reach, you ALWAYS have that feeling of being useless.

The pistol is pretty useful. I can definitely hold my own until I can grab a DMR, needle rifle, needler, pro-pipe.

The fact that nearly every weapon that you can pick up is actually useful is amazingly different from H3. How many times did you ever pick up the dual plasma rifles on Snowbound? Or the spikers on Guardian?

H3 had a ton of weapons and only a few were worth having.

The weapons in reach are just as worthless as the ones in h3. The only difference is you dont have one good weapon lying around in reach like you did in h3.

The weapons in reach are very niche and weak and that promotes a very slow paced rock paper scissors game.

I wouldn't bash, merely because I don't see you producing material like a multi-million dollar gaming series such as this.

I felt the opposite, after going back to Halo 3 I thought to myself that the game blows.

I disagree with every fiber of my being. H3's online SUCKS! It's too noob friendly. It's too easy. You might say "well he's only a Colonel." If you haven't noticed I don't play that much, for the reason I just stated. Reach is easily the best Halo game made so far. The AA's make it unpredictable, the new weapons take more skill to use with the slower ROF and decreased power. It's way more fun and skillful.

I think the idea of giving us less weapons to choose from is a bad idea. Sure nobody ever picked up the spikers, but they were worth having on the map just to have.

For one thing, there aren't enough normal weapons on every Reach map. You spawn with the AR and Pistol, but chances are you will never pick up a DMR because there aren't enough on the map and there isn't enough ammo.

However, there are a million power weapons on the map. Just look at powerhouse: Grenade Launcher, Rocket Launcher, Gravity Hammer, Focus Rifle, and Shot Gun. Mix that around with the AR that hits like a Pea Shooter, and the Pistol that barely has enough ammo to bring shields down and you've got a map that forces you to pick up the endless supply of power weapons that actually do damage, and considering if you ever find a DMR you'll get 3 kills with it if you're lucky I'd say the map feels more like a crappy custom games map that somebody looking for fun chaos slapped together.

Halo: Combat Evolved (Platinum Hits)
Halo 2
Halo 2 Multiplayer Map Pack
Halo 3 Standard and Legendary Editions
Halo Wars Limited Edition
Halo 3: ODST Limited Edition
Halo: Reach Legendary Edition

1. Halo 3's customization sucks in comparison.

2. Spartan-IIIs don't have the best armor ever so they rely on experimental tech.

3. The BR is stupid. I don't want a weapon for every situation, I want lots of different weapons. Plus the DMR looks better.

4. Halo 3 wins in the Sniper Rifle category as the Reach version is very hard to use.

5. Halo 3 was lacking in the gametypes.

6. Halo: Reach has the ability to save thousands of custom content items. Not 150 total, thousands.

7. Halo 3 isn't very much fun anymore.

8. Reach is pushing towards featuring 6 player co-op in Campaign and Firefight.

9. Customization is amazing.

10. The rating system rules!!!

Halo 3 < Halo: Reach

Halo 2 is the best of the trilogy in campaign-gameplay and multiplayer but so far Halo 3 has the best customization. That is until the Reach beta rolled around. Halo: Reach is the best Halo game, period. There is no comparison.

Oh and one last thing WE HAVE BEEN PLAYING THE DELTA BUILD OF AN UNFINISHED GAME!!!

Obviously things are being tweaked, added, fixed, made more awesome, etc. Stop whining until the game comes out. If you don't like it, don't buy it.

I played halo 3, and it was fun. It was a totally different experience actually. Better? Well, I'd say same. Still has that Haloy feel, but with different side effects

I hope there is a playlist that disables armor abilities and increases character movement. I like the armor abilities, but sometimes I just want to kill people without worrying if they have armor lock.

I really enjoyed the beta. Halo 3 is a great game and it always will be, but Reach has so much more potential than Halo 3 ever did. Reach has so much more to offer when it comes out. Because Bungie is bigger and has better technology Reach is goiong to way cooler than Halo 3. And remember you're comparing a full game to a beta when you compare Halo 3 and Reach. That's why they had the beta is to find out what's wrong with the game so they can fix it.

I thought going back to Halo 3 would be refreshing after such a long break from it. Especially with the rich variety of maps compared to the Reach Beta. However, I just wasn't having any fun. Killing enemies just didn't yield the same fun factor. Plus the game just felt very dull and uninteresting. I played Halo 3 for years without getting bored, but after playing the Reach Beta, I just can't get into Halo 3 anymore. Can't wait til the fall.

And they shall call it... MLG. But seriously, have you played any of the good gametypes? (Slayer Pro, SWAT, SvE, Slayer Classic...)

Whoever said that Reach is faster paced is delusional as well. You can't honestly tell me that it is considering the length it takes to get kills and the speed of your Spartan.

Your friend probably fell in love with it again for a couple reasons. First of all, he hadn't played it in a long time so it was probably something new. I stopped playing Halo for awhile because I got tired of consistently doing the same thing. Lastly, he probably likes it more for the COD like features. Such as loadouts, abilities, weapons etc...

1) It IS more fast-paced, that is a fact, especially considering sprint is an AA.

2) None of us have even played CoD, you assume too much. Also, to think that CoD is anything like Reach, is, I'm sorry, stupidity.

get rdy kay? ever play a game in cod where both teams are camping hard and the game is taking forever? if u say no ok. but my point is cod has sprint right? yet ive had games where the whole fifteen minutes pass and we are only at 5000 points. so just because a game has sprint doesnt make it fast paced. it can be just as slow as anything else. and tbh haloce's multiplayer was more fast paced than reach garb MP

God I hate players like you. All weapons in H3 are incredibly useful, you just don't know how to use them effectively so you lable them in your mind "not worth having"...now in Reach they've just made them easier to use.

Reach is more fast paced than Halo 3. Sure movement speed and kill times are slower, but that does not make it slow paced. A lot of military shooters where you can sprint fast and die in three shots are not faced paced. Halo Reach is fast paced because the game changes much faster than Halo 3. Halo 3 is a bit static in comparison. Players slowly make their way from point A to B in predicable paths. In Reach, you have increased mobility due to jetpacks and sprint. You might just finish killing a guy before two other players jetpack over a wall out of nowhere to fight you. The game definitely seems more fast paced and you need more situational awareness in the everchanging experiences.
