Subject: FAQ on Bungie.net Member Titles

I thought what I'd do is I'd pretend one of those deaf-mutes.
If you want to ask me a question, please click here, thanks. Otherwise, don't bother.

If I was a Bungie employee, this would be my custom title:

"Fear the Pink mist"

Posted by: S1NESTER
Now to add to my list of wanting to be an employee:

1. Flames
2. Mods without bans
3. Custom Title

Ps. We will decoded the secret titles

It'd be interesting, but still. It have to be reasonable to create a such title.

P.s. 2000th post! Congrats!

I thought that was just within the ATLAS group?

might have been, I'll check and edit my post.

The following is a list of maps and their authors that have been added to Matchmaking after having run through the gauntlet that is the Atlas application process!

Congratulations!

These users will receive a new forum title: Map Maker. Further, they will be listed as the author of their map when the appropriate section of the official playlists page is updated

It appears that it is only in the ATLAS group, though this led me to believe it would be a title in the forums. However group forum and bungie forum both are technically "forum" so it was hard for me to decipher. Considering he gets acknowledgement in the playlist info, but not in the community. Oh well.

One question: I changed my gamertag right.. I used to be Renato Cool Guy now im The BIack (Capital i instead of L) what can I do to change my bungie.net name without affecting the time I have been here.
I was thinking on making another account but this would affect the time I have been a member.

7/7/09, don't know why exactly.

I experienced strange behaviour with my Forum title recently... whenever I edited my post, it would swap between Heroic and normal.

Has this happened to anyone before?

Yeah, it happens when your title is about to change, and it usually only lasts for a couple of hours.

Am I on the red team or the blue?

I thought the fluctuations between Heroic, Legendary and Mythic were supposed to decrease since the last update. There were supposed to be fewer members at those levels.

Basically, you're gonna have to create a new account if you want a username change. I think only about 4 members have had their username changed in the entire history of bungie.net...

Shush, all of you! It's not Snack-y, nor snake-y, but snak-y! It's like "Snawky", but without the ridiculous extra accent added by the "w".
It's hard to explain. Just know that I am not a snake, nor am I a snack. I am a Snawk.

2270229-Yeah, Duardo. I stole it :P

I most certainly have a firm grasp on how things work here, and I believe this is my first post in this thread :)

But, I have a small, miniature concern/question. Okay, I have basically been here two years. 1 Warning for necroposting, and 1 two week ban for replying to spam. Other than that, no problems with me. So, I'm just wondering why I am still a "member"? Like I said, it's not a big deal or anything, I really don't care too much for a certain title. But, I remember when the member title update was done here a few months back, I was Heroic for a long time, fluctuating between Heroic and Legendary, but when the update went live, I was an Honorable Member.

I was cool with that, then I got my 2 week ban, and ever since then I have been a "Member". So, I guess my only real question here is does this sound normal? I know you don't have all the answers Duardo, just wondering if it sounds normal to you?

Now only if 60% of the populus shared the same intuition...

While I'm at it; Any idea on how the prefixes regarding the join date are handed out?
I've only seen a handful of elders around, some with join-dates later than mine.

No bans or violations on my part, as far as I am aware.

I'm pretty sure that I've figured out the criteria for almost every prefix by just watching people's prefixes change over the past couple of months or so. Here's what I've found:

-1 year without a ban = Honorable
-2 years without a ban = Noble
-3 years without a ban = Exalted
-4 years with a non-recent ban history = Veteran
-5 years with a non-recent ban history = Senior
-6 years with a non-recent ban history = Elder

(I say "non-recent ban history" since it takes awhile for a member to regain a prefix after a ban.)

The Intrepid and Fabled prefixes are a lot harder to determine what it takes to gain them, but I do know that they require a lot of forum activity and are unaffected by a non-recent ban history. My guess is that it takes a certain daily or weekly post quota sustained for a certain period of time, maybe a month or so, to gain the Intrepid prefix. In that case I think that the Fabled prefix would simply be either a larger post quota over the same amount of time, or the same post quota but sustained for a longer period of time, I'm not too sure though.

Just through observation, it seems as though it takes roughly 3-6 months for a member to begin to regain their former title after a ban. However, I'm not too sure if the severity of the ban has a large role in determining how long it will take to regain a title.

This might've been asked before. I was looking around earlier today and noticed someone with an odd title. I thought perhaps it was a Coup title, but Coup is currently down. So I dug around a little more and found this page and noticed this title "avius custos". Wtf is that mate/s?

Sacktapped- Is basically a former Bungie employee. Avius Custos It means something along the lines of Lost soul, or Lost Guardian.

JB- Your theory on the intrepid and Fabled Member prefixes may be correct. In the past month and a half I have brought my posting amounts high, I brought my posts per day from 3-9 in the last month or so. Whilst they are still a mystery to me for the most part, we do know the basics to obtaining it.
